We’re thrilled to announce and celebrate the continuing growth of our Campus community by welcoming the Jewish Community Foundation of Central PA to the Alexander Grass Campus for Jewish Life.

The “donor-centered charitable agency” has joined many of its partner organizations on Campus with its move to the McCormick House in late October. Previously housed in the Harrisburg Chamber building – the Foundation joins the campus community of organizations and programs that are bringing enrichment to Jewish life from Uptown Harrisburg.

“It’s a beautiful location and space,” says Paulette Keifer, the Foundation’s Executive Director. “I think that people are really going to find it to be a very warm, haimish, inviting building and new home for the Foundation.”

That space is located at the northwest corner of the Grass Campus, directly adjacent to the Capital Region Water offices. The organization shares a mailing address with the campus at 2986 N. 2nd St. A number of dedicated parking spaces – accessible from Graham Street – provide donors and visitors with close proximity to the building, which is equipped with separate main and accessible entrances.

In recent years, the Foundation has grown the number of programs and organizations it serves. While it works hand-in-hand with donors to achieve strategic philanthropic goals, it also facilitates grants, programming, and the community-wide legacy initiative. The Foundation works with smaller communities across the mid-state and has a large impact on the long-term sustainability of its home community in Central PA through planned giving guidance, endowments, and more. While the Foundation is grateful for its time in its previous home, it is excited to have a new space that it can call its own.

“We are now in a uniquely Jewish communal space,” Paulette says. “And I think that sends a powerful message when you walk through the doors – we recognize that we can now make this a Jewish space with artwork and Judaica and things that identify us as Jews – and also have the ability to make this our own home and use the space in meaningful ways.”
